Greenleigh

Whispers of White and Child's Delight

Located at the top of a hill in Greenleigh this Mediterranean-inspired garden was designed with exploration and seasonal beauty in mind. The client wanted a space that invited discovery, with distinct sections for children to explore and plenty of whites and purples for a calming, perennial aesthetic. Manuka Gardens brought this vision to life, creating a multi-layered landscape that balances structured design with playful, inviting elements. The garden’s success led to a continued collaboration as we now redesign the front garden for future renovations.

Asymmetric cobblestone pathways wind through the garden, guiding visitors and children alike through lushly planted beds. A charming cubby house is nestled within, offering a hidden space for kids to enjoy. The cobblestones add a rustic charm, while the densely planted beds provide a dynamic mix of textures and seasonal colours, creating a sense of wonder and exploration.

A secluded outdoor sitting area is glimpsed over heavy planting. White crepe myrtles rise above the foliage, adding height and seasonal interest with their striking summer blooms and red autumn foliage. This intimate nook is perfect for quiet reflection or enjoying the garden’s changing views, offering a hidden retreat within the broader landscape.

The firepit area provides a cozy and functional gathering spot with a view overlooking the pool, ideal for relaxing on warm summer evenings. This placement allows for safe pool monitoring while enjoying the ambiance of an open fire, making it a perfect location for family gatherings or quiet reflection. Surrounded by lush plantings, the firepit area creates a seamless connection to the garden, offering warmth, comfort, and a sense of relaxation as day turns to night.

Additional garden spaces include a relaxed alfresco dining area and a front driveway lined with pear trees, blending functionality with elegance. The pear-lined entry creates a grand, welcoming approach, while the alfresco dining area provides a comfortable, shaded space for family gatherings.
